Bob Harvey

Bob Harvey served as President and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership, the Houston region’s principal business organization, from 2012 until his retirement in December 2023. His ability to convene and unite a diverse cross-section of Houston community members was a hallmark of his leadership, enabling the Partnership to address major issues effectively and positioning the Partnership as a key influencer in the region.

Prior to joining the Partnership in 2012, Bob was active in the Houston business community, first as a Senior Partner with McKinsey & Company, Inc. and then as Vice Chair of Reliant Energy.  He also served on the board of TRC Companies, an environmental services company headquartered in Windsor, Connecticut.

Harvey currently serves on the boards of Greentown Labs, TEX-E, Good Reason Houston, and the Greater Houston Community Foundation, which he chairs.  He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Rice Kinder Institute for Urban Research and the Texas A&M System Chancellor’s Century Council.

Harvey was raised in Houston, Texas, and received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
